Allergen Information

What is in our cakes, what we can adapt, and what we cannot promise. Please read this before ordering if anyone eating has an allergy.

Our kitchen

Butter & Bloom is a single working kitchen that handles wheat, dairy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, soy and sesame every day. We cannot describe any product as free from traces of these.

For severe allergies we prepare orders in a cleaned-down station at the start of the day, with separate equipment, separate ingredients and labelled boxes. This has to be arranged when you order — we cannot do it on the spot.

What we can adapt

  • Gluten-free versions of most cakes, with 5 days' notice.
  • Egg-free and fully vegan versions of most cakes, with 5 days' notice.
  • Nut-free versions of anything except the pistachio tier, which is built around the nut.
  • Reduced sugar on request, though it changes the texture and we will say so.

Allergens by cake

Standard recipes as made today. Adapted versions differ — we will confirm the exact allergen list in writing when you order.

Fresh flowers and decorations

Some cakes are finished with fresh flowers or non-edible supports. These are food-safe and never inserted directly into the crumb, but they must be removed before serving. We point them out at handover and label them on wedding cakes.

If you are unsure about anything, call the shop on 076 1234567 or email hello@butterandbloom.com. We would far rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have anyone take a risk.
